SACMARC, *Incorporated*

Certified copies of our Articles of Incorporation were returned to me
affixed with the State Seal. The SACMARC is now officially a Non-Profit
Public Benefit Corporation in the State of Nebraska. Thanks to all who
helped make this possible, including the other Incorporators:

John Sheffield
Sid Reade
Bill McCollum
Bruce Reitan

and our legal counsel:

Brian Zdan
Mike Riddle

I will have our legal documents available both at our September meeting
and our SAC Museum operation for inspection by the membership. The
principal purposes for this incorporation were to limit personal
liability of the individual members, and to satisfy an important legal
step towards accepting tax-deductible donations and achieving tax
exemption (though full tax exemption at all levels would require further
legal work, including recognition of the SACMARC as a 501c3 Corporation
by the IRS; Aksarben Amateur Radio Club, for example, has achieved this
status, though they are a larger group with many more members,
activities, and assets).

The next step is to put an appropriate legal announcement in a newspaper
of record, likely the Bellevue Leader. I will work with Mike Riddle to
have this happen as soon as possible.

Any questions regarding incorporation may be directed to me.
