OMAHA
SAC Museum To Get New Chief
A University of Nebraska alumnus and Omaha-area school
board member will take over a top position at the
Strategic Air Command Museum, officials announced last
week.
Scott Hazelrigg will replace Wayne W. Schmidt as president
and executive director of the museum, effective Aug. 1.
Schmidt, who has completed his term, will take a job in
museum consulting.
Hazelrigg, a member of the District 66 school board and
youth director at Countryside Community Church in
Omaha, has a strong background in community relations
and education, said Bruce Rohde, chairman of the museum's
board of directors.
--(Well, I *ASSUME* that this doesn't affect our plans. I called Mr. Schmidt's office to follow up on the confirmation letter I sent him that firms up our plans for September. I left a message on his voice-mail and plan to gently bring up the subject of any transition issues that may arise with the change of Director when he returns my call.)
