Open Section Keaton Kiewra a Sixth grader of Lincoln Nebraska finished in the top 50 players in an Open tournament, he officially finished 46th. Ben Fabrikant,John Cooper, and David Poland finished 72,73,and 74. they also won the 11th place prize for their team. Also, Mark Sellemyer of Lincoln Southeast finished 114th. Their scores all helped add up to their fantastic performance. Also Harris Brand of Bevridge Middle School in Omaha finished 142nd, he played some excellent games including beating a 1600 player.Last of all for the Open, Dan Neiman of Columbus went solo, in the open with no team, he finished 301st. U1300 Naveed Ahmad of York Nebraska finished in 4th place in the entire tournament, he played superb. His team also won the 19th place trophy, his teamates Andrew Reed finished 38th, and his other teamate Derek Hanson finished 151st. Millard West also had a team present, PJ Aquazzino finished 63rd, and his teamate Emily Rieur finished 107th. Central didnt have a definite team in any section but Noah Prilluc of Central finished 78th. Heath Draney,(me) finished 43rd, with a score of 5-7,At one point I was on board one but ended up losing. Hilary,and Elizabeth Powell,both played, Hilary finished 101st, and Elizabeth finished 155. Kevin Swartz finished 126th. Robert Gray of Columbus finished 261st. The team from Columbus did well, they finished a 1/2 point away from a trophy. Seth Jones of Omaha played, and finished 102. U1000 Eric Swalberg finished 51st, Travis Hepburn of Central High School finished 70th, Billy Chaney finished 87th, Shea Marks of Lincoln finished 207th, right in front of Allyce Brand from Omaha, who finished 208th, Adam Phillips of Millard West finished 99th, and Jason Wiig finished 214th, and last of all Amy Larson finished 285th Congrats to all who participated in this event! |
